SANDPOINT - A Hope man was cited last week for allegedly exposing himself to a barista in Clark Fork, court records indicate.

Thomas W. Woodward is charged with indecent exposure, a misdemeanor. The incident occurred on July 22 at Annie's Orchard on Highway 200.

The barista told a Bonner County sheriff's deputy that Woodward came to the coffee stand shortly before noon and ordered a drink. When the barista went to collect money, she noticed that Woodward had his pants around his ankles and his genitals were exposed.

Woodward, 56, was later found in the city of Clark Fork and questioned, according to a probable cause affidavit. Woodward explained that the barista must have seen him changing his pants, but the deputy advised him the exposure appeared to be intentional, the affidavit said.

The incident was capture by a surveillance camera, according to court documents.

Woodward said he was going through a difficult time and wanted to apologize to the barista, the affidavit stated.

Woodward was summonsed to make an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court on Aug. 7.
