Cash offered for information on goat attackers
COEUR d'ALENE - Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the goat-stabbing case.
Three goats were stabbed earlier this week at a city of Coeur d'Alene water well site along Fourth Street. The goats were performing weed reduction.
One goat died and another had to be put down because of its injuries.
Crime Stoppers can be reached at (800) 222-TIPS. Tipsters don't have to give their name to collect the cash.
Center Target event to benefit nonprofits
POST FALLS - Center Target Sports in Post Falls is planning its fourth annual Customer Appreciation Event for the community Aug. 8.
The event is free and supports the Post Falls Food Bank, the Inland Northwest Blood Bank and Toys for Tots. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the business at 3295 E. Mullan Ave.
The event raises food, toys, and blood donations for the three nonprofits. There will be drawings for prizes and tickets for the drawing can be earned by bringing items to donate. The prizes include five firearms, a wakeboard and hundreds of smaller prizes.
There will also be live music, free shooting and free food and drinks.
During last year's event, 14,500 pounds of food, 89 units of blood and four totes of toys were collected.
The hope is to beat those numbers this year.
