ASA SOFTBALL: Xtreme move on in nationals

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Bre Burke pitched a complete game shutout and Ana Raynor had the lone hit of the game for the North Idaho Xtreme, which beat New Jersey 2-0 in the Under-18 girls Premier National Softball Championships on Wednesday.

The Xtreme will play today at 8:30 a.m., and guaranteed a top 13 finish out of 60 teams.

BRACKET PLAY

Xtreme 6, Illinois Firecrackers 5: The Xtreme scored three runs in the sixth inning to rally for a win. Kylie Rasmussen homered and doubled in the win.

New Mexico Sundancers 6, Xtreme 1: Jadyn Behm hit an RBI double in the loss, the team's first in double-elimination bracket play.

POOL PLAY

Chicago Rockers 5, Xtreme 3: Abby Howard homered in the loss.

San Jose Ladysharks 8, Xtreme 4: Kylie Rasmussen drove in three runs and Martha Tooley added an RBI in the loss.

Xtreme 9, Team Mizuno Florida 3: Abby Howard had three RBIs and Kylie Smith drove in a pair of runs in the win.
