Crews will chip seal a 6-mile section of U.S. 95 through Athol in the Garwood-to-Sagle corridor from Aug. 10 to 31, the Idaho Transportation Department announced Tuesday.

Work from mileposts 447-453 will proceed in the northbound lanes first, then crews will switch to the southbound lanes.

Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone, with flaggers and pilot cars on hand to guide traffic.

Crews also will seal coat a 1.5-mile stretch of Highway 54 from just west of the Blair Castle Road intersection to the intersection of Howard Road and Highway 54. Work will progress from eastbound to westbound.

The projects were originally planned to start today and last through Aug. 21.
