Nancy J. West, 86

Nancy J. West, 86, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully with family at her side on July 12, 2015, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Nancy was born to Ed and Lucille Brandvold on Feb. 11, 1929, and was raised in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Two weeks after graduating from high school, she married Stan. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary last month. They lived in the Coeur d'Alene area most of their married life. Nancy enjoyed going on all the adventures Stan came up with. She loved to fish and usually caught more than anyone else. She was an excellent cook and loved to can fruit, vegetables and fish.

Nancy worked for the county for 26 years, most of that time in the recorder's office. She was a supervisor there for many years and retired in 1991. After retiring, she and Stan traveled to Arizona, Alaska and Mexico.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Stan; her daughters, Ginny Lewis of Lynnwood, Wash., and Jan West of Hayden, Idaho; her son, Steve (Jennifer) of Port Oxford, Ore.; her brother, Norm of Beaverton, Ore.; her four grandchildren: Jason Lewis of North Pole, Alaska, Amy Linhardt of Seattle, Wash., April West of Spokane, Wash., and Chris West of Post Falls, Idaho; as well as nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Lucille and her brothers, Don and Howard.
