Ah, one of the new places we've been anticipating actually will be happening.

A building permit was issued for Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant at 305 W. Appleway. The property now is a parking lot between Walgreens Drug Store and Tomato Street restaurant. The place will have indoor and seasonal outdoor seating and a gift shop with "T's and Totes" (T-shirts and tote bags). The opening should be in late fall.

Starting in 1993, Chipotle has about 1,600 stores with its headquarters in Denver. The theme is to "bring fine dining to a quick-service restaurant." Check www.chipotle.com.

Now for the Tidbits!

- Watch for news on Pinot's Palette and a hookah lounge on Fourth Street, Peterson's Family Foods on East Sherman, a Premiere Discount store in Post Falls and the UPS/Post Box Store on Government Way.

- Aaargh. The TV news-weather people drive a former college journalism instructor goofy. They say "further" and "towards" and write "80's" when they should say "farther" (for distance) and "toward" (no "s") and write "80s" (it's plural, not possessive).

- Why is gas a dime more in Post Falls than Coeur d'Alene?

- "Dime" is from the Latin "decime" and French "disme" for "a 10th part." "Penny" comes from Old English "pence" and Germanic words for the smallest denomination in a coin system.

- Notice all the "Now Hiring" signs in Coeur d'Alene.

- Jump for Joy has added inflatables to rent as well as traditional bounce houses, waterslides and obstacle courses. Based at 250 W. Dalton, the use includes delivery, set-up and pick-up. Phone 664-5200. Check www.jumpforjoycda.com.

- L.G. Strayer of Hayden noted a Sacramento Bee headline: "Sacto man dies of crash hurts."
