POST FALLS - A 1-mile stretch of Poleline Avenue will become more user-friendly for bicycle and pedestrian travel next week.
The scheduled chip-sealing, beginning on Monday, has been revised to include bicycle lanes.
The new configuration, on Poleline Avenue from Chase Road to Idaho Road, will consist of two-vehicle travel lanes and two bicycle lanes.
The existing two-way center turn lane will be removed.
"Bicycle and pedestrian traffic has increased along Poleline due to its proximity to several schools and parks," said Rob Palus, assistant city engineer. "The changes to the lane alignment on Poleline will provide a better and safer road for all users."
