Coeur d'Alene woman dies in crash

NEWPORT, Wash. — A 75-year-old Coeur d'Alene woman died after a crash near Newport, Wash., on Thursday.

According to Idaho State Police, Joan C. Sanders, was northbound in a 2015 Subaru Forester on Highway 57 at milepost 35 at 2:47 p.m. south of Nordman when she drove off the right shoulder, striking a tree.

Sanders was transported by Life Flight to Newport Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was wearing her seatbelt.

An investigation continues.
