FIRE: Super 1 steps up
At the height of the Cape Horn Fire, while making a donation to the Athol Community Center, I learned that firefighters were in dire need of “Emergen-C,” packets of electrolytes and vitamins that can be dumped into their water bottles.
Hearing this I drove to Hayden Super 1. I explained to Ron McIntire, the owner of Super 1, that I needed about 500 individual packets of Emergen-C for the firefighters battling the Cape Horn Fire in nearly 100 degree heat.
Mr. McIntire turned to his General Merchandise Manager Lori Jones who put together 17 boxes for me. She did this within 10 minutes and even gave me a price break on each box.
I was able to donate more than 500 individual packets directly to the fire camp within one hour of hearing the need.
On behalf of grateful firefighters, I thank you Super 1. Thank you Ron McIntire. Thank you Lori Jones.
