Moscow could ban smoking at farmers market

MOSCOW (AP) - A North Idaho city may ban smoking at a farmers market over concerns from vendors and customers.

The Lewiston Tribune reports council members are taking up the issue Monday. Moscow Art Director Kathleen Burns says concerns prompted the Moscow Farmers Market Commission to draft a resolution with the help of city attorney Rod Hall.

The resolution would create a farmers market policy that prohibits smoking at the event.

Burns said Hall and market officials will work on a plan for enforcement and education if council members approve the policy.
