Michael G. Smith, 61

Michael Gene Smith went home to be with his savior on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at his home. Mike was born on Oct. 23, 1953, in Tacoma, Wash.

He is survived by his wife, April Dawn Smith; his son, Anthony William Smith; two granddaughters, Zephra Smith and Zhayna Smith; his mother and stepfather, Boyd and Arline Joyce; his father and stepmother, Ron and Fran Smith; sister Pamela Jo Smith; brother Dale Alvin Smith; step daughter Kelcey Jean Walker; stepson McKenzie Laurence Harriman, wife Amanda Dawn Harriman and their daughter, Emma Belle Harriman; stepson Lane William-Casey Harriman; and many friends in the Post Falls and Spokane Valley area, as well as his church family at the Real Life Ministries in Post Falls.

Mike was in the first graduating class of 1972 at Rogers High School in Puyallup, Wash. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era. He pursued a career as a Solutions Analyst after attending Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, and was employed at the Canon Store in Spokane Valley for several years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, July 14, at the Real Life Ministries Church at 1866 N. Cecil Road in Post Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
