LEGION BASEBALL: Prairie falls in final tourney game
CENTRALIA, Wash. - Despite a strong pitching effort from Jared Porter, the Prairie Cardinals class AA team lost 4-1 to Inside Pitch of Regina, Saskatchewan, to wrap up play at the Greater Seattle League Showcase.
"Jared Porter had a great effort for us on the mound," Prairie coach Brian Fowler said. "He struck out 10 in 5 1/3 innings, and only surrendered one earned run. It's too bad our offense only managed two hits and wasted such a great performance."
Prairie (8-31) returns to action today, facing Northern Lakes in a North Idaho League doubleheader at Lakeland High, starting at 3 p.m. Northern Lakes dropped a pair of league games to Lewis-Clark on Sunday, 10-9 and 7-3.
