Dec. 10, 1936 - July 1, 2015

Ken was born to Harley and Margaret Maynard in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. After high school graduation in 1955 from Coeur d'Alene High School, "Go Vikings," he joined the U.S. Navy.

Following the Navy, Ken was in Seattle working for Boeing. After years of rain he packed up and started working for Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood, Wash. Spokane was home for 35 years.

In 1990 Ken met Violet Espe at Spring Dash. They married in 1991 and had 24 years of traveling and running 5Ks or half-marathons. They were both Coeur d'Alene 1955 classmates, so knew many mutual friends.

This year, health issues finally took Ken's will to live. He is without pain now and enjoying his new journey.

Ken leaves behind his wife, Violet; sister Midge Maher of Seattle; best friend John Morris of Spokane; and family members Kelly and Janeen Espee, Greg and Teresa Espe, Tiffanie, Tracy and Cindy Espe, Gideon Espe, Darrel and Rita Miller.

Thanks for all the support friends and family. God Bless Violet.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1011 N. Compton, Post Falls, Idaho.

Donations can be made to Ken's favorite charity - Union Gospel Mission.
