PACIFIC NORTHWEST AMATEUR GOLF: Bayley, Hatley advance in Pacific Northwest Amateur

SUNRIVER, Ore. - Former Lakeland High and current Washington State sophomore Derek Bayley and Hayden Lake resident Reid Hatley advanced to the single-elimination match play rounds of the Pacific Northwest men's Amateur Championships today at Sunriver Resort.

Bayley shot a 72-67-139 and will face Kent Hagen of Covington, Wash. today, teeing off at 7:54 a.m.

Hatley shot a 71-71-142 to advance to face Ryan Wallen of Blaine, Wash., with tee off at 10:18 a.m.

Charlie Kern of Mercer Island and recent graduate of William and Mary, shot rounds of 63-70-136, a combined 9-under par over the 36 holes of stroke play to earn medalist honors and will be the No. 1 seed in match play.

The final match is scheduled for Sunday.
