Husband allegedly pulls knife on wife

ATHOL - A husband in Athol was arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly pulling a knife on his wife in the kitchen and threatening to kill her.

Outside the home, he allegedly threw a rock that nearly hit her in the head. He also reportedly tossed a lawn chair and branch at the woman, according to a report by the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. The incident was reported Monday.

The couple married a year ago, the woman told authorities.

The woman said the man "has been physical with her in the past, since Christmas 2014 because he is upset with his lawyer in Spokane, who has been unable to argue his case for early release from federal probation," the report said. He's a registered sex offender.

She said she didn't know all of this prior to their marriage.

The argument that started the alleged assault was related to the man's son in Oregon, who was "trying to get him to violate the terms of his probation by using the Internet for their antler business," the report said.

He isn't allowed to use the Internet, and the wife told him she wouldn't lie to his probation officer if the officer asked about Internet use.
