FOURTH: It's Dependence Day

| July 8, 2015 9:00 PM

As my husband and I do our trips into Coeur d’Alene, I observe the “patriotism” that comes with the yearly celebration of this country’s independence at the cost of many lives, July 4, 1776.

With that in mind and the state that this country is in today, there begs the questions: What are you celebrating? What does the Fourth of July mean? WHY are you celebrating?”

The American people are no longer INDEPENDENT. Most are DEPENDENT on governmental assistance, and DEPENDENT on regulations and laws that do all the work and provide all of the answers FOR them. Our Constitution is constantly ripped at. WE are forced to take ITS health care. How could this be considered INDEPENDENT?

Just a question for ALL of us Idahoan “terroristic” CONSERVATIVES to ponder.

So next year, as all of you sit and watch all of the “pretty light displays” try to remember WHAT those pretty exploding sparkly lights REPRESENT. A war (and bombs) that cost many lives and our beloved flag to be tattered, in order to achieve INDEPENDENCE from a tyrannical ruling “government.”

WHY are we Celebrating?
