Open house this week on Honeysuckle-Ramsey intersection
HAYDEN - The city of Hayden has scheduled an open house Thursday to gather public input on plans for the intersection of Honeysuckle Avenue and Ramsey Road.
The open house will run from 5-7 p.m. at Hayden City Hall at 8930 N. Government Way.
Sean Hoisington, the city's public works director, said Monday that the intersection has been delaying motorists too long. During peak hours of traffic, a significant number of vehicles can back up waiting to get through, he said.
The city also is planning for growth, he said.
David Evans and Associates Inc., the city's design consultant for this improvement project, will have preliminary design concepts on display.
Hoisington said both a traffic signal and roundabout are being considered.
Consultant representatives will be available to help answer the public's questions and receive feedback related to each of the concepts.
"We value the perspective of our various community members and transportation system customers," Hoisington said. "Bicycle and pedestrian connectivity will be integral to the successful planning of this project."
The project is funded using impact fees and is currently scheduled to be constructed in the spring of 2016.
Refreshments will be provided at the open house.
Hoisington can be reached at (208) 209-2018.
