I-90 restrictions this week
POST FALLS - Drivers will encounter lane closures on Interstate 90 in Post Falls Wednesday and Friday for concrete pours needed to construct the new Greensferry overpass.
The eastbound right (slow) lane of I-90 will close from 4 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, and both eastbound and westbound lanes will be affected on Friday, also between 4 and 9 a.m. On Friday, crews will close the westbound right lane first, then the westbound left lane, and lastly, the eastbound left lane will be closed to do the work. Travelers may encounter delays.
Greensferry Road is open between Polston Avenue and Mullan Avenue. Greensferry Road between Schneidmiller Avenue and Seltice Way remains a one-way, northbound lane and there will still be intermittent lane closures at both the Seltice Way/Greensferry Road intersection and the Mullan Avenue/Greensferry Road intersection.
Work has begun and will continue on the retaining wall on the south side of the overpass. Frontier will continue work on its fiber optic line in the project area. Use caution in all work zones.
Ralph Wadsworth Construction, of Draper, Utah, is performing the work on behalf of the city of Post Falls. The Post Falls Urban Renewal Agency is funding the $15 million project.
When completed, the new structure will feature two lanes in each direction, a center turn lane, bicycle lanes and sidewalks on both sides.
The yearlong project began in December 2014.
The project will improve connectivity, traffic mobility and emergency response between the business districts and residential areas north and south of the interstate.
