Bayview fire updates - it's big and getting bigger

The Press will provide updates throughout the day today, with reporters and photographers on scene in the Bayview area. At 4 a.m., these notes were released to media. 

   4 a.m. update.       2000 acres plus estimated. Smoke prevented earlier accurate estimate. Wind and dry temps played major role in fast moving fire. Law enforcement in place to assist in evacuation notification if necessary Monday. 6+ homes confirmed burned all on eastern half of cape horn. No containment at this time. 26 apparatus with approx 100 personnel on ground. Two fixed wing planes and 2 helicopters used for air drops. Over 10 fire/emergency agencies including OEM from Kootenai and Bonner counties. Unified command with Idaho Dept. Of Lands and structural fire agencies including teams from Washington and boat from navy. 3 fire boats and 2 Sheriff boats assisting. Type 3 team due Monday and type 2 team ordered up.
