New words for your vocabulary

"Awesome strategery," Dick says, applauding as Bill watches Garry's putt from behind to learn the break in the green. "Yep; strategery," Bill acknowledges as he strikes his putt dead-center into the back of the cup. Solid strategery works every time, we all agree as we walk off the green.

We created the word strategery a year ago as no other word truly captures the act of working a strategy for the benefit of a golfer. The word fits and we use it a couple times a round. A creative thinker can develop other words needed to complete today's lexicon. I offer a few words I use to understand and describe the human condition. Some words are borrowed from friends, students and family; other words I am solely responsible for.

Sheepole - sheepole are people who act like sheep; constantly following the next trend, idea or thought of others while seldom having an original thought of one's own.

Psychophilanthropist - psychophilanthropic people give willingly of themselves to others; not financially but emotionally. A psychophilanthropist listens to one's complaints, troubles, dreams and concerns and offers insightful feedback to help one in need to grow emotionally. The psychophilanthropist is not looking for anything for themselves but only to help others become a better person.

Flustrated - this word is a combination of flustered and frustrated. I hear this word used often when one is exasperated and struggles to find a word to describe one's emotion.

Anyways - this word is a hot topic for me. Anyways is not a word; it is a colloquialism and has no purpose in the English language. Anyway is the adverb most mean when adding the "s" to the word. Please remove the "s" and say anyway when you speak. It will make you sound smarter.

Kid-coucher - this is a child who would rather lay on the couch and play video games, text friends or watch television rather than be outside exploring his or her world. Kid-couchers are killing our future. Technology is becoming more seductive and addictive than drugs. The little people in this world, who will someday become big people and make decisions about this world's future, are squelching all opportunity to become meaningful members of our society by wasting their minds with brain-numbing technology.

Basement-dweller - basement-dwellers are kid-couchers as adults. The kid-coucher has moved subterranean and aged enough to leave home and become productive but years of behavioral restructuring has limited the basement-dweller's ability to cope in society. So there he stays, in the basement of his mother's home, still playing video games, texting friends and watching television.

A Mac and Cheese Day - mac and cheese days are special days when everything is comfortable, warm and safe. A mac and cheese day is a warm blanket on a blustery day with a good book and chamomile tea. A mac and cheese day includes giggling grandkids, playful puppies and warm slippers.

Zurburt - a zurburt is when one blows hard on another's tummy causing a farting sound that makes the recipient giggle. When a zurburt is given successfully, both receiver and giver giggle in unison.

Potatohead - a potatohead is an Idahoan who does something inconsiderate, unkind or mean. One example is one who leaves a shopping cart in the parking lot and does not return the cart to the cart corral - a major potatohead action.

These are a few of my suggestions for words to add or delete from our lexicon. Are there words that you often use in your daily life that might be added? Please let me know and I will publish another list of words from our readers. Thanks for listening and have a mac and cheese day!
