Fabiola Maua, 85

Fabiola Macauling Maua passed away peacefully in her home on June 25, 2015. She had recently relocated from San Diego, California. She was born on May 10, 1930 in Talaban, Negros Occidental, Philippines, the daughter of Juan and Petra Macauling and one of six children. She and her family survived WW2, being partisan fighters. After the war she continued her education and graduated from St. Joseph College in Cavite City. She was widowed twice, to George Simpson and Iapani Maua. She became a US citizen in 1960 and resided in Los Angeles, California, for 45 years. She worked for Magnavox aircraft navigation division as a quality control inspector until her retirement in 1995. She was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Los Angeles. Her hobbies include gardening and traveling, but her greatest joy in life was her family.

She is survived by two children, Elizabeth and George; six grandchildren David, Michael, Danielle, Kristen, Jessica, and Eric; two sisters, Carmelita and Nellie; and her first great grandchild Dylan Faith.

A Funeral Service Mass will be held at Yates Funeral Home Coeur d' Alene Chapel 744 N. 4th Street, Coeur d'Alene on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Vigil and Viewing from 9:00- 10:00 a.m. The burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Spirit Lake at 1:30 p.m.
