COURT: Killing me slowly

| July 1, 2015 9:00 PM

Statistics say that in 20 years I should be dead. I am 67 now and hope I’ll be gone before our nation no longer exists.

Yep, I am talking about the two recent decisions by our Supreme Court. It was very clear in their opinion that the court is going the way of public support and not the rule of law.

Concerning Obamacare they said it was not their place to upset the status quo of the health care system. They interpret the words (by the states) to mean something else. They said that Congress said one thing, but we, the nine powers that be, know what they really meant.

Gay marriage — who would have thought it would have come this far? Disregard religious feelings for a moment. However you look at it from Darwin to Jesus, it’s always been a man and a woman. Funny, but most religious people I know don’t try to push their views on anyone. Yet all these what I call alphabet groups, LGBT or GLBT, always try to cram it down your throat. If I went someplace and they would not sell me a cake because of the way they feel, I would just take my business somewhere else. No, they have to force it on you. I don’t see religious people trying to force their views on me.

Mark my words, the next big push will be the attack on religious freedom. If you don’t marry these alphabet groups in a church, they will sue you for their right to marry in your church. I only hope the churches will stand their ground and fight and not cave in.

I was around when one lady took prayer out of the church, because good people did not stand up for what is right. Oh, and what a disgrace to have to say the Pledge of Allegiance in a classroom.

Consider the shooting in the church that killed nine people and look what has happened. A minority want to erase our history, removing statues and flags. Just imagine if the murderer was shown with a United States flag — I am sure there would be a cry to get rid of that oppressive symbol.

Oh, I know there are people who say, you’re just a sore loser. Yes, I feel bad for our country, but that’s what happens when good people stand by and do nothing. Want proof? Look at how many people turn out for any state, federal, or local elections. I am told the Christian community is one of the biggest in this area who do not exercise their right to vote. Most people just don’t care.

Obama was right when he said he wanted to fundamentally change this nation. Wait until the national debt, which myself and most people do not fully comprehend, comes a calling.
