WOLF: Follow spirit of the law

You have got to be kidding me! A man (Mr. Mize) shoots a wolf in protection of his dogs. He knows he does not have a license, so he buys one after the fact. The state got their money.

Fish and Game comes around suspecting some dastardly deed has been done. Mr. Mize does something very unusual — he tells the truth. He could have lied and no one could prove anything different.

Here comes the prosecutor’s office to the rescue — a law has been broken and we shall punish this honest person. Let’s forget about people driving crazy on Lake Drive and all other crimes in our county. There is nothing more important than punishing a man who shot a predator, the sacred wolf.

Whatever happened to the Spirit of the Law vs. The Letter of the Law?

Good, taxpaying citizens read things like this and say “Are you kidding me?” Apparently not!
