NIC BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Robateau helps Cardinal men avenge earlier loss to Snow

COEUR d'ALENE - Redshirt freshman guard Jamaal Robateau had 20 points and six rebounds for the North Idaho College Cardinals in a 76-60 win over the Snow Badgers in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game on Thursday at Rolly Williams Court.

"Jamaal is our shooter and still found a way to get to the basket despite going 0 for 5 from the 3-point line," NIC coach Corey Symons said. "He played really well."

Austin Pope had 17 points, six rebounds and four assists for NIC (18-5, 5-4 SWAC), which hosts Salt Lake on Saturday at 5 p.m.

"Austin is really starting to figure it out," Symons said. "He's been playing really well. We're really happy with our guys. We needed this home stretch to get ourselves back on track."

In other SWAC play, third-ranked Southern Idaho (24-0, 9-0) held off visiting Salt Lake (19-4, 7-2) 79-70 in Twin Falls.

Gentrey Thomas scored 21 points for Snow (16-8, 5-4), which beat NIC 72-67 in the Jan. 10 game in Ephraim, Utah.

COEUR d'ALENE - Mariah Swanson had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Cardinals in a Scenic West Athletic Conference loss to the Badgers at Rolly Williams Court.

Panisesi Taimani had 14 points and 11 rebounds for NIC (15-8, 4-5 SWAC), which hosts Salt Lake on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Earlier on Thursday, Salt Lake (20-4, 8-1) romped past Southern Idaho (14-10, 5-4) 91-52 in Twin Falls.

Kaitlyn Hurley scored 20 points for Snow (18-4, 6-3), which lost at home to NIC in overtime earlier this month.
