HISTORY: There's still time to learn

| January 23, 2015 8:00 PM

I am not a history buff, in fact did very poorly in school on that subject. I just finished reading Bill O’Reilly’s book “Killing Patton.” What a fantastic read. One thing that struck me is we have not learned from history.

We were very reluctant to enter the war with Germany and discounted the evil with both Hitler and Stalin. Even partnered up with Stalin.

Today is the same with Islamic terrorism and ISIS. While we bury our heads and pretend it is otherwise, these evil groups flourish.

We ignore the mosques in our own country that preach the downfall of our nation and have training camps on private land in the U.S. We think ISIS is only over there and not here.

We are afraid to say anything bad about the Muslim religion and say its just a bunch of extremists. While they are, you do not hear about the billions of so called peace loving Muslims denouncing these Muslim atrocities.

Once again we are on the edge of witnessing evil and do very little. Maybe when it comes to our door, we will see the error of our ways and history repeats itself.
