RUTLEDGE: Thanks for outpouring of love

We, the family of Veronica "Roni" Rutledge, would like to thank everyone who reached out to us during this terrible tragedy. The outpouring of love, care and compassion has been tremendous and we are forever grateful. Thank you.

SHOPPING: Best local experience ever

This year due to my own procrastination, disorganization and lack of time I was required to do all of my shopping locally...Usually I order online. I was more stressed than usual and wasn't looking forward to hitting the road to search for the perfect gifts for my 3 grands...However, due to the AMAZING service I received at EVERY business I went to in CDA & Hayden MY Christmas shopping experience was the BEST experience I've EVER had! and I am really old...So I had to publicly send a HUGE THANK YOU TO...the EXTREMELY helpful ladies at the Well Read Moose, The sweet girls at The Buckle and Aeropostle, The Stellar service from the young men at Figpickles and Zumiez, The sweetheart at Hayden Creek Salon and Spa, The guys at Best Buy and Macy's and I can't forget Sears and Costco and Albertsons, Pier 1, TJ Maxx, and Walkers Furniture you ROCK...and a Special thank you to our CDA press carrier Jimmy who has the paper at our house through sleet & snow every day like clockwork! I can't thank you all enough for making my YEAR!!! May you all have an AMAZING holiday and AWESOME 2015!

CYT: Thanks to participants, volunteers

Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho would like to thank those in the community who participated, volunteered or donated to their 6th Annual Play in a Day fundraiser on December 29 and 30. One hundred thirty six local kids along with 25+ adult volunteers literally put together "Jack and the Beanstalk" in 24 hours! On Dec 30, after a final dress rehearsal, everyone enjoyed a quick bite to eat donated by local restaurants, and then performed for supporters and the curious who couldn't believe it could be done.

A portion of the profit from ticket sales went towards scholarships which provide tuition for kids who wish to take CYT-North Idaho's theater arts classes. The remainder goes directly back into the non-profit educational program. CYT-NI would like to specially acknowledge the following businesses for their donations: Build-a-Bear Workshop, Coeur d'Alene Chocolates, Columbia Paint & Coatings, Del Taco, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts - Spokane Valley, Little Caesars Pizza - Cd'A, Nate's New York Pizza - Post Falls, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts - Spokane Valley, Little Caesars Pizza - Cd'A, Nate's New York Pizza - Post Falls, Pizza Hut - Cd'A, Pizza Hut - Hayden, Pizza Factory - Cd'A, and Super 1 Foods - Cd'A. They would also like to thank the S.A. Kroc Community Center for their continued support and they look forward to returning next year to experience the miracles that can happen when 150+ people come together to have fun and entertain their community.
