Jeanette May Pierce, 81

Jeanette May Pierce, 81, passed away peacefully in her home on Feb. 25, 2015, due to natural causes from a long-time battle with cancer.

Jeanette was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Coeur d'Alene, to Clarence and Winifred (Mitcham) Covey. She resided in Coeur d'Alene for the past 27 years.

Jeanette attended North Idaho College where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Kootenai Memorial Hospital for 28 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, crocheting, working in her garden, and interacting on Facebook with her many new and old friends.

Jeanette was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her son, Douglas G. Pierce; brother Eugene Covey, and his wife Lucy. She is survived by her son, Charles Clarence Pierce; daughter and son-in-law Esther and Sean Cassel; and daughter Elizabeth Cora Cole; five treasured grandchildren: Charles K. Pierce and his wife Charity, Russell and Jeanetta Cole, and Benjamin and John Cassel; and three great-grandchildren: Lily, Allyse and Layne Pierce.

She will always remain in our hearts.

Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m., and the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
