Kenneth John 'KJ' Karl Jr., 43

Our husband, son, father, and friend, Kenneth John "KJ" Karl Jr., 43, of Post Falls, Idaho, entered Heaven's Gates on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, after passing away unexpectedly at home.

KJ was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Sept. 14, 1971. He and his Dad moved to Missoula, Mont., when KJ was 5 years old, where he met his amazing bonus Mom, Nina. KJ attended the University of Montana, majoring in journalism, and was an amazing writer.

KJ met the love of his life, Terra, in 2005 on match.com. They blended their families and married in 2006, settling in Post Falls.

Most recently, KJ was the general manager at The Master's Touch in Spokane, Wash. He was previously employed as a software developer and video game programmer at Microsoft, working on the team that created the first Xbox and meeting Bill Gates.

KJ enjoyed gaming, fishing, camping, watching his Chicago Bears through thick and thin (usually thin), NASCAR (an adamant Tony Stewart fan), and yelling at the TV while watching "The Walking Dead" with Terra. He thoroughly enjoyed children and served as Treasurer on the Mullan Trail PTO for three years.

A decent, Godly man, KJ strived to raise Godly boys and was a doting daddy to his little girl. His God and his family meant absolutely everything to him.

KJ is survived by his wife, Terra; children Jacob, Trenton, Dillon and MacKenzie; parents Ken and Nina Karl; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Jessalynn Karl; his favorite niece Natalie Karl; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved dog, Yoshi.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Bell Tower Funeral Home, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave., Post Falls. Please, no dressing up, wear comfy jeans and clothes - KJ wouldn't have liked the fuss.
