Arthur 'Art' Adalor Brison
Arthur "Art" Adalor Brison passed peacefully into rest on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015.
Art was born on Oct. 26, 1934, in Chelan, Wash., to Arthur A. Brison and Bertha (Kruse) Brison. He was the middle child to Art and Berthas' nine children.
Art grew up in Spokane, Wash., and dedicated his life to God when he was 17 years old. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.
While in the service, Art met Phyllis E. King. They were married in New Jersey and then moved and settled in the Pacific Northwest. Art worked as a roofer in Spokane, and then moved to the Rathdrum Prairie where he started a dairy with registered Guernseys.
To better provide for his family, Art began driving semis. Over the course of the next 30 years, Art drove for a number of companies. Art was proud of the fact that he had 3 million accident-free miles.
After retirement, Art moved to Hamilton, Mont., and made many true and heartfelt friendships while running a handyman business. When Art's health began to fail he moved to the Coeur d'Alene area to be near several of his sons.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bertha Brison; brothers Jack Brison, Bill Brison and Dave Brison; sisters Arlene Thomas, Betty Butkowski, Ruth Wells and Eleanor Brison; and his oldest granddaughter, Katelyn Brison. He is survived by his one remaining sibling, Nelson Edward Brison; former wife Phyllis Brison; and their sons Dan, Dale, Dean, and Duane, and their families.
The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Yates Funeral Home Hayden Chapel, with a potluck reception immediately following.
Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Art's online memorial at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com and sign his guestbook.
