Ethan James Major, 15
Ethan James Major went home to be with our Lord on Feb. 20, 2015. Ethan was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Jan. 10, 2000.
Ethan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eddy Reynders and Renee Reynders of Johannesburg, South Africa; and by his paternal grandfather, Jerry Major of Vancouver, B.C.
Ethan is survived by his loving parents, Tim and Sara Major; and by his four siblings: Christopher, Julia, Oliver and Harrison, all in Coeur d'Alene. He also leaves behind his grandmother Kay Major of Kellogg, Idaho; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Ethan came into this world as a beautiful, happy baby who filled those around him with joy and laughter. That never changed. He was sweet, tender-hearted, and so sensitive to others. His incredible sense of humor made everyone around him laugh. Camping, hiking and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes, and he looked forward to spending time in the woods every summer. Ethan was a movie buff with a long list of movie critiques under his belt. He loved to play chess and make amateur films with his many friends and siblings.
Ethan was a fantastic brother. Christopher, his oldest brother, was his best friend, and even though Christopher was away at college they talked and texted every day. The two words that come to Christopher's mind when he thinks of Ethan are "supportive" and "inventive." For Julia, those words would be "funny" and "witty." Oliver remembers him as "caring" and "funny." And for his little brother Harrison, Ethan was the big brother that he loved to cuddle up with at night.
Most of all, Ethan loved Jesus. We rest in the hope that we will see him again.
A celebration of Ethan's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d'Alene.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Ethan's name to Candlelight Christian Fellowship. The funds will be used to establish a memorial or make a donation to a non-profit in Ethan's name at some point in the future.
