BB or pellet may have hit bus window

Coeur d'Alene Police officers are currently investigating a report of damage to a Coeur d'Alene School District 271 bus window that may have been the result of a projectile from a BB or pellet gun.

Officers were notified at 3:06 p.m. Tuesday that a window located near the middle of the school bus was possibly shot while the bus was traveling in the area of 11th Street and East Garden Avenue.

The bus driver said there were 20 middle- and high-school students on the bus at the time of the incident. None of the children on the bus were injured. They were transported to Lakes Middle School where school staff put them on a different bus to continue their normal route home.

It appears the damage was possibly from a pellet or BB gun. Officers are continuing the investigation.
