ANNIVERSARY
Dale and Nancy Scarlett
50th Anniversary
Dale and Nancy (Price) Scarlett celebrated there 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 30, 2015. They married in Los Angeles, Calif., on Jan. 30, 1965.
Childhood friends and later sweethearts built a family in California before finding "God's Country" and moving their family in the 1980s to Coeur d'Alene.
Their children are Shad Scarlett of Coeur d'Alene, and Amber (Scarlett) and Peter Obico of Santa Clara, Calif. They have four grandchildren that occupy a good portion of their free time: Joey Kent and Elizabeth Scarlett of Coeur d'Alene, and Caleb and Mia Obico of Santa Clara.
Our family is blessed to have such love and guidance from a remarkable couple.
ENGAGEMENT
Norris-Wenker
Donald and Candi Norris are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kati Michele Norris of Elgin, Texas, to Tristan Ambrose Wenker of Killeen, Texas, son of Wynn and Cheryl Wenker of Coeur d'Alene.
Kati is a graduate of Austin Community College. She is employed as a medical assistant. Tristan is a 2010 graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School. He is enlisted in the U.S. Army.
They will be united in marriage in 2015.
EDUCATION
Elizabeth Armon earned a place on the Dean's Honor List at California Polytechnic State University in San Louis Obispo, Calif., for fall 2014. Students on the Dean's List have a GPA in the top 15 percent of all students in the College of Liberal Arts.
Elizabeth is a 2012 Coeur d'Alene High School graduate. She is majoring in communications with a minor in law. She is the daughter of Mic and Lauri Armon of Coeur d'Alene.
NEW LDS BISHOPRIC
Stephen Daniel Goodmansen, of Post Falls, was recently called to be the new Bishop of Post Falls 3rd Ward for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife, Kristin, have lived in the area for the past 16 years and are the parents of three children.
Bishop Goodmansen is originally from Sunnydell. He was raised in Grandview, Wash., graduated from Walla Walla High School and attended Ricks College and ITT Tech. He served a two-year mission to the Hamburg, Germany, Mission. Stephen is a licensed architect for the state of Idaho and works for Bernardo-Wills Architects in Spokane.
First Counselor to Bishop Goodmansen is Joseph Edward Tomlinson. He and his wife, Susan, reside in Post Falls. He is originally from LaCrescenta, Calif., and graduated from Glendale High School. He studied history and Spanish at Brigham Young University and served a two-year mission to the Argentine Mission. Joe has lived in the area since 1989. He has three children and is a retired chef who has refereed sports for the past 51 years and still enjoys doing so.
Joshua Martin Gittel, of Post Falls, serves as Second Counselor. He and his wife, Cami, are the parents of three children. They have lived in the Post Falls area for the past five years. He was raised in Coeur d'Alene and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School.
He received his degree in business/accounting from the University of Idaho and is an accountant employed by North Idaho College.
David Johnston serves as the Executive Secretary and Adam Johnson is the Ward Clerk.
Post Falls 3rd Ward meets at 1 p.m. each Sunday at the McGuire Road Meetinghouse.
