Lakeside nabs North Star title
PLUMMER - Takoda Abrahamson scored 21 points and Jordan Nilson added 19 points and 10 rebounds as the Lakeside Knights beat the Kootenai Warriors 75-54 on Thursday night to capture the North Star League boys basketball title.
"We played really well tonight; we only ended up with seven turnovers," Lakeside coach Stacey Sonder said.
Hunter Kolar and Joseph Mitchell each scored 10 points for Lakeside (11-8, 7-1 NSL), which plays host to No. 4 seed Mullan next Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a semifinal game of the 1A Division II District 1 tournament.
Anthony Keogh scored 19 points for Kootenai (9-10, 5-3), which plays host to Clark Fork next Tuesday at 6 in the other semifinal.
Tuesday's winners meet Thursday at 6 p.m. at Lakeside in the championship game for the district's lone berth to the state tournament March 5-7 at Caldwell High.

MOSCOW - Leading by one at halftime, the visiting Tigers shot 3 for 23 in the second half and were outscored by the Bears 26-11 in the nonleague game at Bear Den.
"They picked the pressure up and forced us to take some quicker shots, and we just didn't knock down very many either," Timberlake coach Tony Hanna said. "And they did a good job controlling the tempo in the second half."
Ryan Somershoe scored 13 points for Timberlake (5-16), which plays Bonners Ferry on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at North Idaho College in the first round of the 3A District 1 tournament.
Moscow (3-17) plays Sandpoint on Monday at 8 at NIC in the first round of the 4A Region 1 tournament.
