COEUR d'ALENE - Former Kootenai County Commissioner Todd Tondee has found a new job. And it's at the county.

He is a "transit program specialist" in the Grants Management Office, which is overseen by the county commissioners. It's a new position.

"It's been very exciting," Tondee said Friday. He started Monday.

He will be "mostly dealing with the Citylink bus system," he said.

The Grants Management Office is a four-person department with Jody Bieze serving as director, he said.

He said the pay range for his position is $19.90 to $27.46 per hour, though he declined to say where he was in the range. He said the county advertised for the position.

Tondee said when the county receives grant funding this department works to make sure the county stays in compliance and continues receiving the money.

The department also supports other departments as they seek grant funds, he said.
