Cardinal men finish season sweep of USU-Eastern
COEUR d'ALENE - Braian Angola-Rodas had 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists to lead the North Idaho College Cardinals past the Utah State-Eastern Golden Eagles 82-66 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game on Thursday at Rolly Williams Court.
"Braian is playing really well right now, and being aggressive to the basket," NIC coach Corey Symons said. "Austin (Pope) has been playing great and the guys are buying into the team concept right now and trying to get each other shots. We're starting to play really well together right now."
With the win, NIC (20-6, 7-5 SWAC) swept the season series with Utah-State Eastern (11-14, 2-11). The Cardinals also won in Coeur d'Alene 70-64 on Jan. 22 and at Price, Utah, 73-70 on Dec. 20.
"We're playing really well right now," Symons said. "They're a tough team and a lot better than the 2-10 conference record they've got. They've lost a lot of tight games."
Jordan King scored 14 points for NIC, which hosts Colorado Northwestern on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Andre Hogan scored 17 points for Utah State-Eastern.

Utah State-Eastern (17-9, 6-7 SWAC) swept the season series from NIC (17-11, 4-8), winning by an average of seven points.
Bryanna Adams scored 17 points for Utah State-Eastern.
Monica Landdeck scored 12 points for NIC, which finished 22 of 58 from the field.
