NIC offers scholarship at professional-technical open house on Feb. 25
North Idaho College will host a professional-technical open house and scholarship drawing on Feb. 25.
The open house is 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Hedlund Building on the main campus (near the corner of Hubbard Street and Rosenberry Drive).
"The PTE open house provides prospective students the opportunity to actually visit the classroom and lab facilities for the program where they may have an interest," said Gayne Clifford, NIC business and professional programs division chair. "It gives the prospective student the opportunity to speak with the instructors and advisers and find out what will be required for them to enter the program and complete it.
"It also can be an indicator to the student that the program may just not be the career path they want to pursue."
There will be program representatives available at the open house from the Trades and Industry, Business and Professional, Health Professions, Hospitality, Outdoor Leadership and Aerospace divisions. Faculty members and advisers will be on hand to speak about program entrance requirements, coursework and career opportunities and outlook.
There will also be a $500 scholarship drawing for those in attendance.
"The open house will give students, their family members, and the community in general a wonderful opportunity to explore what PTE programs have to offer," said Doug Anderson, NIC Trades and Industry Division chair.
