PREP WRESTLING: Post Falls goes 5 for 5 at all-star dual
BOISE - Post Falls seniors Drake Foster and Seth McLeod earned pins in the first statewide All-Star Classic dual on Saturday at Centennial High.
Wrestlers were selected for being in the top two in their weight class among the four classifications, then split into two teams.
Foster pinned Seth Mullen of McCall-Donnelly in the third round at 126 pounds, McLeod pinned Levi Perry of Kuna in the second period at 182.
Three other Post Falls wrestlers won matches with T.J. Wolf (132) beating Sammy Eckhart of Fruitland by a 12-4 major decision, Alius De La Rosa beating Kellogg senior Blake Ivie 4-2 at 138 and Justin Farnsworth beat Taycen Reid of Preston 4-3 at heavyweight.
"Our guys wrestled pretty dominant," Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. "It was a really big honor to have five guys on the team, and cool to have them all win. The kids were really excited about it."
Post Falls travels to Lake City on Wednesday.
Lakeland, with seven champs, wins Bonners tourney
BONNERS FERRY - William Edelblute (98 pounds), Tavis Woempner (106), Larry Johnson (113), Tyler Siegford (120), Wyatt Gatten (152B), Jared Walker (170) and Killian Estes (195) claimed championships for the Lakeland Hawks, who finished with 163.5 points to run away with the team title at the Bonners Ferry tournament.
Tucker Figueroa won at 136 for Kellogg, which finished second with 129 points.
Isaac Walters (160), who won his 100th high school match earlier in the day, and Josh Richmond (152) and Nathan Masterson (182) won titles for St. Maries, which finished third.
Mario Peregrina (138) was the lone champion for Coeur d'Alene, which finished fourth.

take third at Weiser
WEISER - Tyler Badertscher and Brock Herbert finished third in their respective weight classes for the Tigers, who finished 17th in the 20 team Weiser Invitational.
Badertscher lost by decision in the 152-pound semifinals, then beat Brian Heleker of Payette by a 12-7 decision for third.
Herbert lost by decision in the 160-pound semis, then battled back to beat Theron Christensen of Buhl by a 12-3 major decision.
Mountain Home claimed the team title with 201.5 points.
