LEWISTON - Lake City senior wing Joe Pasquale hit four 3-pointers and was 6 for 7 from the free throw line to finish with 24 points, leading the Timberwolves past the Lewiston Bengals 56-48 in a 5A Inland Empire League game on Saturday at Booth Hall.

With the win, Lake City (9-9, 3-3 5A IEL) locked up the second seed to the 5A Region 1 tournament starting on Feb. 20. Lewiston (9-11, 1-4) concludes league play at Post Falls on Friday.

"The kids responded really well after two bad losses," said Lake City assistant coach Kelly Reed, after the Timberwolves snapped a four-game losing streak. "A lot of teams would have been deflated, but they had a phenomenal practice on Thursday and Friday, and carried that into the game. Everyone played really well, we limited turnovers and just played solid from start to finish. Really, the attitude of the kids was great and a big difference in the game today."
