WRITER: Objects to two letters

| February 6, 2015 8:00 PM

I would like to comment on letters by Janet Callen and Gary Edwards published Jan. 25.

Ms. Callen must have watched the State of the Union Address and believed all the lies the president was saying. Also must be an avid viewer of the Obama Network MSNBC. She gloats about how great the ACA is. I’m guessing she’s receiving subsidies to help her pay for her health care. I hope she doesn’t believe that these subsides are falling from the sky. Everyone was pretty much satisfied with their coverage, they only paid for what they wanted, premiums and co-pays were manageable. Now ACA goes into effect and the president says your insurance is no good, your policy is cancelled and now you have to purchase new insurance, better insurance.

Now the only insurance you can find costs a hell of a lot more, your paying for things you don’t need or want because someone has to pay for the subsidies that other people need to get insurance.

Mr. Edwards, I’ll stand by the “old guy” any day. The “shot” remark was a little much. I would go for impeaching the president. He’s acting like a dictator not abiding by the Constitution — it’s his way or no way. He has a phone and a pen.

The “old guy” didn’t shut up. He knew there was no reasoning with you, couldn’t have a conversation — no Mr. Edwards, he didn’t shut up.

I’m guessing you weren’t in the military. What do think war is? Of course there’s violence. Kyle was over there to protect his fellow soldiers so they could carry out their objectives, and in turn he was protecting your butt so you can call him names over here.

I have not seen the movie yet. Mr. Eastwood was interviewed and said that it’s an anti-war movie. It shows how families deal with their loved ones always being in constant danger in a foreign land.

You didn’t seem too broken up when you said in your letter that the “hero” came home only to be killed by a fellow soldier he tried to help.
