Possible skeletal remains of human found

BAYVIEW – A hiker in the Bayview area found what appear to be the skeletal remains of a human on Wednesday around 12:45 pm, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning.

The KCSO received a call from a hiker in the Bayview area that he came across what appear to be human skeletal remains, a KCSO press release states.

Deputies responded to the remote forested area off Cape Horn Road and hiked into the area where they found several bones that appear to be human remains.

Detectives then responded to the scene, but due to the darkness and weather, suspended further investigation until the morning hours. A deputy was posted at the scene overnight.
