Students, it's tulip T-shirt time
Creative students in Kootenai County are being asked to put their skills to the test for United Way's 2015 Spring Dash T-Shirt Contest.
Middle and high school students in the county are encouraged to submit a design for the shirts to be worn by participants at the Spring Dash - a 5-mile community fun run, walk and tot-trot to benefit the organization. Colors are encouraged and the design may be in any medium.
However, entrants must include the signature "Tulip" and the phrases "Spring Dash" and "33rd Annual."
According to a press release from United Way of Kootenai County, the winning design will be printed on more than 2,000 shirts and given to all participants in the Spring Dash.
The student with the winning design will receive a $100 prize from Bank of America, recognition in The Press, and the opportunity to work with the T-shirt company art room department to see the process from start to finish.
Original work must be submitted to United Way of Kootenai County, 501 E. Lakeside Ave., Suite 3, Coeur d'Alene. Entries must be delivered or postmarked on or before Friday, March 13.
The release asks all entrants to be sure to include their name, address, and phone number on the back of their entry. A planning committee for the race will have full rights to the winning entry and all others may be returned upon request.
United Way of Kootenai County's 2015 Spring Dash will take place on Sunday, April, 19 and more information on the event can be found at www.KootenaiUnitedWay.org/Spring-Dash.
