Four Corners workshop set
COEUR d'ALENE - The city of Coeur d'Alene has announced a second public workshop that will detail the progress being made on the Four Corners/Bureau of Land Management Corridor Master Plan.
At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, members of the public are invited to the community room of the Coeur d'Alene Public Library for the workshop. According to a press release from the city, representatives from the Four Corners Steering Committee and the Parks and Recreation Commission will be present to field questions.
The design team will also be at the workshop to show the public the latest revisions to six sections of the corridor, which stretches from Independence Point to Riverstone. Much like the previous open house, several poster-sized exhibits illustrating the latest conceptual improvements throughout the corridor will be displayed.
The six sections of the corridor include 15 to 20 conceptual projects that will be outlined at the workshop.
According to the release, the primary goal of the master planning process is to create a conceptual plan that includes uses approved by the Bureau of Land Management, the entity which owns property in the northwest portion of the corridor.
"If BLM accepts the plan - which would generally require that any development provide for public uses - it could lease the property to the city at little or no cost," the release states. "The city council is expected to consider the conceptual master plan in April. If approved, the plan would be forwarded to the BLM for consideration."
