PREP BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Kellogg wins the Brawl, gets back the Ball
KELLOGG - Gus Colburn hit a 3-pointer with 1:20 remaining to break a 48-all tie and lift the Kellogg Wildcats to a 56-48 victory over the St. Maries Lumberjacks in the Brawl for the Ball spirit game on Saturday at Andrews Gymnasium.
Kellogg, ranked second in this week's state 3A prep media poll, improves to 12-3.
"It was great game by both teams," Kellogg coach Jeff Lambert said. "St. Maries is very well coached, and I like the way they play. It was a really good game."
Kellogg won the Ball trophy.
"It was Brawl for the Ball, so the stands were packed," Lambert said. "It was a huge game."
Logan Feasline scored 21 points and Matthew Smith added 15 for St. Maries (10-2), which is ranked third in the 2A poll. The Lumberjacks host the Post Falls JV on Monday.

MOSCOW - Tony Naccarato scored 14 points and Elliott Sparks had 11 points and eight rebounds to lead the Vikings past the Bears in a nonleague game at Cowan Spectrum.
"Defensively, we've been pretty good the last couple of games," Coeur d'Alene coach Kurt Lundblad said. "I thought on both sides of the ball, we were pretty consistent tonight. The kids played unselfish basketball tonight, and it was fun to watch."
Colby Daniels and Brody Lundblad had six assists each for Coeur d'Alene (12-5), which travels to Lewiston on Tuesday.
Alec Martin scored 13 points for Moscow (1-12).

CLARK FORK - Hunter Kolar scored 19 points for the Knights in a North Star League win over the Wampus Cats.
"We came out real flat in the first quarter, but after that, we played OK and played with them," Clark Fork coach Corey Vogel said. "Lakeside's a tough team and were hitting some 3-pointers and had five in the first half. They shot the ball well and we couldn't stay with them. We had our moments and played well at times, but Lakeside is a tough team."
Geoff Boudousquie had 22 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three steals and Spencer Jeffres had 12 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals for Clark Fork (4-8, 2-3 NSL), which travels to Kootenai on Saturday.
Jordan Nilson and Takoda Abrahamson had 16 points each for Lakeside (9-7, 5-0), which hosts Mullan on Thursday.
