* WRESTLING
POWELL, Wyo. - Michael Nguyen (125 pounds), Bryce Weatherston (141), Tyler McLean (157) and Dajour Reece picked up a pair of wins Saturday to finish the weekend 3-0 in the Apodaca Duals on the campus of Northwest College.
NIC beat Neosho of Chanute, Kan., 31-8, then regained the Moose Cup with a 28-15 win over host Northwest College to finish 16-3 in dual matches this season.
"The guys wrestled really well this weekend," NIC coach Pat Whitcomb said. "It's nice to wrap up the regular season on a high note and move onto regionals and nationals. It's always a tough trip to come here, but the guys wrestled well and it should help their confidence."
NIC will host the West District championship on Feb. 13 at Christianson Gym, starting at 10 a.m.

COEUR d'ALENE - Braian Angola-Rodas had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists for the North Idaho College Cardinals in a loss to the Bruins in Scenic West Athletic Conference game at Rolly Williams Court.
Salt Lake (20-4, 8-2 SWAC) took a 37-30 halftime lead and limited NIC to 7-for-32 shooting from the field in the second half. NIC was 4 for 28 from 3-point range.
"We came out and played hard, played really good defense," NIC coach Corey Symons said. "There was just a lid on the rim. Salt Lake does a good job packing in their defense and making you take jump shots. Our shot selection wasn't bad; we just couldn't get 'em down."
De'Sean Parsons scored 14 points for Salt Lake.
Jordan King scored 13 points off the bench for NIC (18-6, 5-5), which travels to Southern Idaho next Saturday.
Djuan Piper, NIC's second-leading scorer, did not play because of a one-game suspension for a "team violation," Symons said.
