Linda Christine Shultz, 65

Linda Christine Shultz, 65, of Hayden Lake, Idaho, passed away Dec. 20, 2015, in Coeur d’Alene. Linda was born April 22, 1950, in Long Beach, Calif., to Stan and Joyce Soderberg. Linda’s passion was a life dedicated to service to others. Following her cancer diagnosis 4-½ years ago, Linda began volunteering with children at the Home Depot Kids Workshop. Linda was an active member of Coeur d’Alene Assembly, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, especially fifth grade. She also volunteered at Borah Elementary School in the library and as a kindergarten classroom aide. She loved the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, scuba diving, skiing, and gardening.

Linda is survived by her husband John; sons, Brian Scott of Midway City, Calif. and Dana Scott of Dallas, Texas; three granddaughters Kaitlyn, Naomi and Suzanna; and daughter in-law, Kristin Scott of Mission Viejo, Calif.; two brothers, Lonnie Soderberg of Spokane and Stanley “Rick” Soderberg of Spokane; and her mother, Joyce Soderberg of Coeur d’Alene. Linda is preceded in death by her father, Stan Soderberg.

Linda’s family wishes to give a special thanks to the many people that have been such a loving support to her over the years. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be sent to the Kootenai Health Foundation’s Patient Support Fund, 2003 Kootenai Health Way, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Coeur d’Alene Assembly, 2200 N. 7th St., Coeur d’Alene, with a reception to follow.
