RING: Sting of a generalization

| December 16, 2015 8:00 PM

In response to the story “38 years of sentimental value returned”:

As the manager of said gas station where Dora’s ring was lost — and thankfully found — I think I speak for all of our employees that we are naturally thrilled that Dora’s ring was returned to her, but we take a little offense to Randy Fraker’s statement, “I wasn’t about to turn it in to the store, I figured it would disappear that way.”

Every one of our employees, as well as countless customers, searched for Dora’s ring. We put up fliers and continued to look, long after most would have lost hope. Assuming it would “disappear” if turned in to our store is not only patently untrue, it’s insulting. We live in a lovely community, filled with honest, good people. Making assumptions does a disservice to all of us.
