Frances Louise (Mitchell) Pinson, 78

Frances Louise (Mitchell) Pinson, 78, passed away Dec. 9,2015, at The Village at Orchard Ridge in Coeur d'Alene. She was born Oct. 27, 1937, in New Edinburg, Ark., to Albert Cantrell and Lydia Novella Estes Mitchell. She was the youngest of six children, and preferred to be called Louise. Her siblings Lois, Myrna, Kenneth, Charles and Albert, Jr., all preceded her in death.

She grew up in Fordyce, Ark., and graduated from Fordyce High School in 1955.

She married Kenneth Pinson on Jan. 25, 1957 in Houston, Texas. They were married 50 years. He passed away on her birthday in 2007. During their marriage they lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Washington, Montana, and ldaho. She and Kenneth both worked at the Hanford Nuclear site in Richland, Wash., during the 1980s, where she was employed as a secretary. After their retirement they purchased an RV and enjoyed traveling in the southern states.

Louise enjoyed reading, handicrafts, word searches, and listening to Gospel music. She was very talented at making beautiful quilts and cross-stitch pieces, and created wonderful handmade jewelry. She played the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. She was a meticulous housekeeper and enjoyed the role of homemaker very much. She was a great cook. We will miss her Christmas carrot cake and "spoon" divinity.

When she was younger she became hooked on the soap-opera "Days of Our Lives" and followed it for 25 years!

She is survived by her children Roger Pinson (Connie) of Monroe, Ga.; Karen Brice (Larry) of Surgoinsville, Tenn.; Crystal Geren (James) of Coeur d'Alene; and Cindy Talley (Jay) of Post Falls; as well as nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter.

There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene, with a memorial service to follow at 10 a.m. lnterment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Garden at Orchard Ridge for their loving and compassionate care of Louise during the months of her residency there, and to Hospice of North ldaho for their care during her final days.
