SPOKANE — Whitney Meier scored 20 points to lead the Lake City Timberwolves past the North Central Indians 70-43 in the Border Clash at West Valley High.

“We’d talked with her about her trying to do too much and just letting the game come to her,” Lake City coach Bryan Kelly said. “Today, she started attacking the basket and getting to the free throw line.”

Lauren Rewers had 11 points and eight rebounds, Nina Carlson had 12 points and eight rebounds and Bridget Reiken scored 10 points for Lake City (3-0), which travels to Moscow on Monday.

“I thought Lauren and Nina did a good job on the boards and Bridget didn’t miss a shot,” Kelly said. “Kate (Maryon) did a great job of getting us into what we needed to be on offense. We just need to keep working hard and keep our focus.”
