LEWISTON — Glory Ellison scored all six of her points in the fourth quarter, hitting 4 of 4 from the free-throw line down the stretch to lead the Post Falls Trojans past the Lewiston Bengals 49-42 in the 5A Inland Empire League opener for both schools on Tuesday night at Booth Hall.

“It was kind of a back-and-forth game,” Post Falls coach Marc Allert said. “We got up five in the fourth quarter and then they took a 42-41 lead. Glory was able to hit some shots down the stretch and we were able to get some defensive stops at the end of the game.”

Melody Kempton scored 13 points, Aubree Johnson had 11 points and eight rebounds and Ellison had six rebounds for Post Falls (2-0), which travels to West Valley on Friday in the Border Clash.

“It’s always nice to go down there and get a win,” Allert said. “It’s a tough place to play. Both teams are pretty young and evenly matched right down, but we’re happy to come out with a win.”

Demi Randall scored eight points for Lewiston (2-1), which hosts Pullman tonight.
