MUSLIMS: Here's a little irony

After reading letters purporting to show that Muslims are more violent than Christians, I can’t stay quiet any longer. First, I am a Christian because I was born in a culture where Christianity was the major religion. One’s religion is largely an accident of birth.

One recent letter described how the Muslim religion was so violent and then referred to Nazi Germany as an example of how one’s rights can be subverted. I found this very ironic because the Nazi holocaust was a very example of the violence of Christians. Yes, within my lifetime European Christians murdered 6 million Jews, 6 million Polish (mostly Catholic) and millions of Russian (mostly Orthodox) Christian POWs as well as a multitude of other miscellaneous people. In fact, Hitler was never excommunicated and remained a baptized Christian to the day he died.

By the way, if you are concerned about Sharia Law taking over in this country, remember that Muslims worship the first five books of the Old Testament just like we Christians do and most of the Sharia Law is taken from the first five books of the old Testament.

So violence is not limited to extremists of any particular religion. I think that more Americans have been murdered by domestic religious extremists than Muslim extremists. I believe that more Muslims have been killed by American bombs than vice versa. So, before you criticize others remove the mote from your own eye.
